10 days from/to Marrakech
Discover the Draa valley, a lush oasis stretching between Agdez and M'Hamid for about 200 km.
The Draa river was the longest river in Morocco, its water flows from the foot hills of Atlas mountains and reach the Atlantic ocean in western Sahara. The magnificent architecture of Kasbahs (Kastles) and ksour(fortress village) built in the heart of the oasis.

Easy trek, 5 to 6 hours walking per day, the camels carry your luggage and a Berber cook prepares your meals. 3 hotel nights in Marrakech, overnight in tent during trekking.
Program
Day 1
Arrive at Marrakech. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight hotel.
Day 2
Drive to the south via Tizi n'Tichka pass 2 260 meters. After the city of Ouarzazate, called the door of the desert, we follow the Draa valley to Mhamid Oasis. Meet our caravan and short walk to our first camp in the sand dunes. 8hours to drive, 1h walking.
Day 3
Easy walk southward, superb colors and wonderful landscapes for the first touch with Sahara: Sand dunes, Acacia and Tamarisk trees, black stony plateau called “Reg”, we found many peaces of pottery! Indeed we hike on the same way as the old trade caravans did several years ago from Morocco to Tomboctou in Mali. Break for lunch at Sidi Naji, a holy place used as a break for old trade caravans!. Afternoon we have to cross many small dunes to reach our camp. 5 hours walking.
Day 4
Nice day walking in the dunes. The target is to reach the highest dunes of the area called “ Erg Zaher”. Afternoon we climb Erg Zaher, Beautiful view to the “sea” of sand and an amazing sunset from the top. Down to our camp for overnight. 6h walking.
Day 5
Today we have to cross the famous Draa river bed. Explore the abandoned village El Block. After lunch, we pass another Erg Smar in order to reach the red sund dunes of Sedrat. Camp in the dunes. 6h walking.
Day 6
Easy walk in a wide plain. After a break in the shade of Tamarisk, we cross à beautiful sand dunes of Chegaga. Camp at Awinat Naji. 4h walking.
Day 7
An other half day walk through sand dunes to reach the holly Erg Laabidlya. Nice view to the Bani mountains in the north and the green “forest” of Calotropis procera “Tawerza” in the north-East. Camp in the dunes. 4h walking.
Day 8
End of trek, transfer by 4x4 via the dry Iriki lake to Foum zguid & Tazenakhte towns then to the High Atlas. Continue via Tizi n’Tichka pass to Marrakech. Overnight hotel. 7hours to drive.
Day 9
Free day in Marrakech to explore this capital of Almohad and Saadien dynasties. Overnight hotel.
Day 10
Transfer to the airport. End of our services.
